Default Tire replacement question

I found out I have a nail in a non-repairable location in one of my Goodyear Eagle Sport 285/45R20 112H runflats. The Goodyear service center advised they can only replace all 4 tires because of the AWD. The car and tires are less than a-year-old in the car has about 19,000 miles on it . Do you know if Goodyear has a road hazard warranty that would cover this type of damage. I remember having a Goodyear tire warranty brochure given to me when I bought the car but I can’t seem to find it. Also, if it’s not covered and I have to replace the tires, Has anybody replaced these specific tires with non-run flats? I can’t seem to find any compatible non-run flats online anywhere. Thanks.

Not unless you bought one. You could get non-rfts but are you willing to be left completely stranded if you get another flat? Like on the side of a ride where you cant drive away to safety?

I don't know about tire alternatives, but in regards to replacing just 1 tire or all 4: with 19,000 miles, I would assume there is some measurable wear to the tread. However, if there is still a good amount of life left on the 3 other tires, I would opt to get one new tire and then have it shaved down to match the tread depth of your other three tires. Tire Rack (tirerack.com) does that, so if the Goodyear service center you are using doesn't mention it, I would ask them about it and then order from tirerack if needed. If the other 3 tires are getting low anyway, then ditch them all.

I'll be curious to hear the answer of the road hazard warranty - I always assumed that is only only tires that we purchase and not on factory-delivered tires, but would love to be wrong.

I second buying one tire and getting it shaved. Otherwise buy 2 tires and ensure that both new tires stay on the same “axel” when tires are rotated, so this is the crux of the problem going forward. There’s no need to buy 4 new tires. I went through this a number of years ago with my s4 and thankfully the other good tire was still at 8/32 and a new tire was 10/32. I decided to buy one tire but it was at the limit of wear differential between the tires.

Thanks for the info. I guess I’ll start by taking it to the dealer and see if have any tire warranty coverage. If not, I’ll check into doing just one and shaving it down or two on the same axle.

I went the Tire Rack route. Total for 1 tire with tax, shaving fee and shipping is $424. Once I’m ready to replace the set I will go with non-runflats. I heard the Pirelli Scorpion Verdes are a good option.

Also, no go on the road hazard warranty with the old tire. Doesn’t apply to the tires that come with a new car

Discount Tire will sell road hazard warranties on OEM tires. My run-flats cost around $250 for all 4 as I recall. Other tire companies may also sell the warranties.
