No, its not reasonable. There's a reason the light is on.

If you really want to reset it, disconnect the battery for a few minutes. But, don't... Go back to the dealer and tell them to run the codes and fix what is causing it.

May I ask what's the gas consumption issue?
Does it mean the bad gas consumption?
I always doubt I have only 15-16 mi/gal, not like others 18-19.
If you have the same concern, please let me know the detail.
Thanks.

Not reasonable at all, something is triggering that light. They need to put you in a loaner and fix the issue and if its a simple reset then they should be able to do that for you.

Only thing worse than that after a repair is finding collateral damage

it's kinda like having some guys in to fix up your 900 year old cathedral, and they burn it down instead.

So I told them that I had a business trip planned and they told me don’t worry about driving with the engine light on. Unm, okay.

But now on the road for the trip and the cruise control doesn’t work. What the hell? I take my car in for recall issues and it’s worse off. Plus, I asked them to address the squeaking brakes in reverse and they weren’t even aware of the bulletin and the squeaks remain.

I want to name the dealership, but will give them one last chance to make it right.

Have you escalated this to your dealership's service manager?
I am lucky enough to be on a first name basis with mine, or maybe unlucky enough... LOL

They probably bumped a vacuum line when replacing the fuel rail. Same thing happened to me.
