I can't seem to find what is included in the "towing package"? Anyone have any details?

On the '14, this was included:

NOT AVAILABLE WITH: [YNB] Running Boards

from the new Q7 brochure:

The Audi Q7 stands as a leader with an incredible
7,700 lb max tow rating with the available Towing
package on the 3.0T model. The package includes
a trailer hitch receiver with brake controller
pre-wiring

I also read somewhere that the Adaptive Chassis Package increases the towing rating up to 7700 lbs.

The ROW gets a cool power fold-out hitch and software that helps in backup the trailer, plus the aforementioned stability program that manages the trailer brakes when it senses lock-up via ABS.

I did notice what the brochure indicated but thought there was more than that for $550. I guess it's the cost of the wiring and socket

Yes, according to the Q7 product manager that I talked to at the Q7 reveal at Audi HQ last summer it would have required an expensive DOT approval process.

OK. So the brake controller wiring is not included but does it include a regular wiring connector for running, brake and directional lighting like a pickup truck usually has besides the hitch? I hope we don't have to get one of those adapters that connect on the inside and hang out the rear hatch.

Can I install Audi towing package later at dealership or it has to be factory installed ?
