Yes, though that post was about dashcams. I wanted to update the one specifically about radar detectors, though the install is identical.

[sigh]

I'm quite aware. I was trying to help people who were looking for threads pertaining to radar detectors in the name.

Does anyone know if the car cuts the power off to the mirror tap when it turns off the engine during auto start/stop?
I am using a switched fuse under the footrest, and I think it is turning off my dashcam at red lights.

Thats a good question. I have my auto start/stop turned off via ODBeleven, so I can't test this out, but maybe someone else with the Mirrortap can?

I don't think it has anything to do with where you tap in for power. My V1 was cutting out during restarts from the auto start/stop system also. What I needed was a brown-out booster or "Bob" as Valentine calls it. During engine restarts the voltage drops to IIRC 10 volts or less and this causes to V1 to shutdown and go through its start-up routine again. See the Valentine website. The "Bob" costs about $25 and is about the same size as the phone type connector that is supplied with the V1. You plug it in between your power source and the V1. If the dash cam is cutting out due to low voltage, one of these Valentine "Bob"s should solve the problem.
