Conti DWS tires have lasted the longest on the heaviest of SUVs. 15,000 miles is about the average on Land Robers to the GL. The Q7 is a beast. Nothing to do with the brand. More about weight. Tire size might help. But why go with less patch. Unless you need snow tires. All seasons and summer I would just try another brand but as said the Conti DWS is an awesome tire of not best out there beside pilot sport.

Here are the specs of the oem 285/45/20 goodyear runflats and below is the 265/50/20 bfgoodrich I am considering...

Seems like you have a lot of options in 265/50/20 and you can find things that are load rated similarly.
Only thing is I am hesitant to go with a tire that has a traction rating of B vs A. The test (performed in wet conditions) focuses on tread compound over pattern and I'm sure the car would stop sooner on a A (or AA) traction rated tire...

Seems like range rover and jeep grand cherokee uses 265/50/20 and it is somewhat common. Not as common as the 275/45/20 size though.

I don't see the benefit in going with that size over the 275/45. Most of the 265 offerings seem to be "truck" tires, whereas the 275s seem to be more performance oriented. And most people prefer a slightly wider tire. Either size will work fine.

Has anyone tried any "All-weather", (NOT "All-season" or Winter only) tires? There are none on the market, at least in the US, in OEM size (285/45-20 on my car).

Thanks! Interesting.Tread pattern makes me anxious about noise on dry roads. Tire rack and other mail order places don'rt seem to sell Nokians and neither does anyone else around SE PA, except for some very little garages per Nokian web-site. that I've found. there is a dealer out in Frisco, CO. I'll have to talk to him next winter.

When I asked dealer about All-weather tires, they looked dumbfounded.

Do you agree that the load rating is irrelevant?
