VCDS mods on 2017 Q7
Hey,
We just took delivery of our 2017 Q7 Prestige, glacier white, nougat brown, black headliner, black grey oak wood, towing, cold weather, driver assistance, adaptive chassis (1st one in OR with all-wheel steering), LOVING it!!!!
I was able to get the following VCDS mods done so far:
Disable seat belt chime
Needle sweep in virtual cockpit
Enable lap timer
No luck on HUD showing gears (even though I was able to change it to D on/S on), taillights on with DRL, adjusting LED brightness, disable start/stop, add ACC distance to MMI, etc.
I am using Ross Tech with 16.3beta so I am sure we will be able to do more in time.
I was just wondering if any of you were able to make any additional mods to the new Q7 yet.
Thanks
Update:
Change blinker cycles
46 central conv.
Adaption
Turn signal control-freeway flashing: flashing cycles
Old value is 3 (for 3 blinks)
I changed it to 4
Enable Automatic PDC Front
[09 – Central Elect.] [Coding - 07]
Select Long Coding Helper
Select Bye 37
Check Bit 1
Double beep on unlocking
46 central conv.
Adaption
sounder_settings-beeptime_opening_central_locking
change from NO_BEEP to DOUBLE_BEEP

Unless your A7 is a '16, there should be no problem with this programming. Also with the SQ5 there should be no problem. After making the adaptation change did you go back into the MMI and change the setting?

question, why does the Q7 require the wifi version?
or do you mean it requires the HEX-NET version via USB cable or wireless, because it is not compatible with HEX-CAN USB?

Until recently HEX-CAN would not support the MLBevo platform. VCDS 16.3.1 beta ads some support for HEX-CAN via firmware update but is not backwards compatible with older versions of VCDS. Even HEX-NET is not fully compatible yet.

Ah so this new 16.3.0 beta VCDS software allows compatibility of the HEX+CAN cables with MY2017 MLB Evo Audis but at the expense of installing new firmware on the HEX+CAN cable itself that renders it incompatible with older versions of VCDS as well as the current non-beta release of VCDS.
Interesting. Hopefully, it will have no other limitations so I don't have to buy a new $500 HEX NET.
