The DRL hack that I got was NOT coming from a 2018 Q7 per se but from a general OBD Eleven forum. At first, I tried the "sl_at_drl" option that one did not work and luckily the dimming_to_sl" works for me.

^ Does it function the same if the lights are set to 'off' and DRLs are on, as well as when lights are set to 'parking lights'?

I am planning on this on our 2018 Q7 but I also wanted to do something similar to our 2014 Q5 and noticed that when lights are 'off', factory setting is that 'wink' is on. If I set to 'parking lights', the DRL actually dims.

We have Canadian cars.

From NJ. FYI, the only thing that you`ll be missing is the small light at the far end of the mirror when making a turn .

So I got this to work on my 2017.

Had to have both selected
Dimming_to_sl
Sl_at_drl

The only thing was the taillights would also be on as drls

Okay, I got the dynamic LED replaced. It was pretty easy once you get the hang of it, I initially had some issues with pulling the mirror out. Some other videos showed using a suction cup to pull the mirror, I think suction cup + your glove protected fingers will work better.

Please use only the removal of mirror part from this video linked above. There are 5(black trim) + 1(painted mirror cap) + 2(light strip) screws I had to remove.

Thanks OP, it looks pretty nice, (even though the small LED which is normally visible from inside is not present on the new LED strip)

BTW, The ebay one I got is smoked plastic, not a clear one like the original one. I think it looks better now.

Anyone have any more tips, I am embarrassed to say, but I cannot get it apart!!!!

Where is that 1 painted mirror cap screw. That seems like what I may be missing.
