Default Wheel/Tire warranty

Hi Guys, I am proud new owner of a 2019 Q7 3.0 AWD prestige, samurai gray. Paid $66K OTD for it here in Chicago.

I also got the dealer to throw in 3 oil changes, didnt opt for the audi care, opted for the cosmetic wheel protection as well as a Vehicle protection plan + , which covers wheel alignment and brake pad/rotor.

My question is, my dealer wants another $1225 for a wheel/tire replacement plan, which includes repairs to tire or new tire if cant be repaired.

I usually trade in my cars around the 2-2.5 years mark, but this is my luxury car, so i am bit concerned if i pop a tire on it, they are expensive.

What are your suggestions?

Thanks

I'm suggesting NO for the replacement plan, especially for that price. For the cars that I have owned, wheels and tires were never a problem. Worst case you'll blow a tire --- $250-600 replacement cost, depending on whether you get one or a pair. If you scratch your wheel, there are wheel repair shops that fix scratch for $200-300. I have a minor scratch on one wheel. I decided to just leave it alone.

Living in pothole-ridden NYC, I paid for tire/wheel replacement plan and now regret it - agree with Keyser Wi above.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the help.

How did I do for the price? Is 66k OTD a good deal for Chicago? MSRP on the vehicle was $71k.

At the time I bought, getting few thousands under MSRP is impossible lol... I custom ordered and waited about 5 months for mine. 5k off MSRP does sound like a good deal though.

You should be able to get 10% off now, so about $7K.

Yah it seems like I got a little more than 10% off MSRP, with cargo net, 3 oil changes, floor mats.

What can I do to make sure that I keep this car trouble free?

Just keep up with basic maintenance intervals - this gen's Q& reliability rating is very good, not many things to worry about.
