RI Port Too
I did got confirmation from my dealer last night that the 3.0 Q7's (and other models with 3.0 engines) were set to be released from port and that at least in RI they were working the weekend to get them out. I have no idea if weekend work is normal anyway or not, but either way - I think there's a light on at the end of the tunnel.

Just contacted my salesperson. My Q is still on hold at RI. He sent me the screenshot that he took of the status a few minutes ago to confirm it. Just my luck.

I got an email from the Sales Mgr last night and my sales person this morning saying the same thing, so hopefully multiple people saying the same thing is a positive sign.
I think I'll only believe it when they tell me a date to pick it up. Then drive it for a day or two and hand it over for a ceramic coating most likely.

Hi all. Pardon my ignorance, and I have to admit I didn't read every post. I initially thought that this hold only related to Q7s, but saw suggestions in some of the later posts that the hold related to all 3.0T engines. Would this include the S4 (which also has a 3.0T)? My S4 has been sitting at the port for nearly two weeks now, with no real explanation. I was surprised there would be a hold on it since many 18 S4s have already been delivered (and I test drove one before I ordered).

Do we know whether the hold is initiated by Audi or is it the US emissions being particularly difficult as a way of punishing VWoA for the recent flurry of emission issues (note Porsche was just told to recall their diesel engines in Germany - Porsche told to recall cars with defeat devices - MarketWatch).

This was apparently not related to emissions or certification. Audi just didn't want to flood the market with too many choices, presumably because that would make it harder to sell 2017s for as high a price. That is just a logical assumption.
