Audi and BMW in the Top 10.

I was really excited about the XC90 but kept seeing issue threads pop up on Swedespeed and had me concerned and ultimately had me moving in with Audi.

No car is without issues, but having owned BMWs for the last 17 years, i can certainly say they are high quality vehicles. Hopefully Audi will win me over as well!

I believe Audi is absolutely top on the Consumer Reports reliability index for brands. It's a bit of a turnaround from 5 or 10 years ago.

I agree, not as long as you did but 6 years, 2 brand new X5s, not a single headache. Overall excellent vehicles, drives well, solid, my only complain is their soft paint (bmw forums owners will claim otherwise, but maybe it's better paint among germans, definitely can't compete with some of the american vehicles I've owned in the past, slightest touch on edges or rub with anything other than softest of the softest will result in visible scratch)

I almost bought XC90-- But thanks to swedespeed, after reading numerous issues, I decided to drop it. There were bunch of lucky owners who managed to get near problem-free XC90's but I think either they just don't care about those problems as it may not bother them overall, or just they haven't used those enough to encounter the issues, of course we are talking about annoying issues like infotainment, etc.. but there were major issues like stalling, etc.

Oh great, more Consumer Reports endorsements for Audi = more senior citizens driving Audis. We were vising my in-laws at their senior community in Florida and noticed that Audi had clearly replaced Lexus as the senior vehicle of choice. I'm already in my 50's and don't want to look like I'm in my 70's driving a new Audi.

You already should be shopping for 50+ community living Maybe you saw kids vehicles - visiting with parents.

Ha ha. I don't know if you know, but it's even worse for the Q7. In their rankings it blows every other midsized luxury vehicle away by more than 10 points. They described it as the best SUV they ever tested.

Consumers Reports is for old people? That's a new one. I started getting it in my mid twenties and am quite a ways away from being a senior citizen.
