Default $16k for a '83 UrQ? Looks to be in excellent condition...

If I had the money, I'd be tempted to go after this. Are these supposed to appreciate with time?<ul><li><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Audi-Ur-Quattro-1983-Audi-Coupe-Quattro-Turbo-UR-Quattro_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6055QQitemZ4621 915079QQrdZ1">http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Audi-Ur-Quattro-1983-Audi-Coupe-Quattro-Turbo-UR-Quattro_W

Default Seems to me that prices are starting to climb on some examples but very slowly...

...In the last year or so there have been a couple of outstanding examples that have shown up fetching 10k or more in pricing. A couple of things have started to help nudge the URq market (in my mind anyway).

One-would be the popularity in WRC street cars ie WRX and Mitzy Evo cars. As these new owners begin their research into the evolution of these cars they notice that neither one of them started the trend of AWD race cars Audi did.

Two-Audi's racing program they have dominated endurence racing over the last 6-7 years and looks like the trend will continue with the new TDI R10 winning Sebring.

three-25th Birthday. Quattro turns 25 and the press is littered with the coverage. May help people get interested.

Four-The popularity in Audi as almost tripled when the 1996 A4 came out. Audi was the leader for a while in profits earned globally. More gear heads who buy Audi's begin to look at the car's history and realize that for a couple of bucks they could drive a top ten classic car that is as rare as some Ferrari models (at least in North America anyway)

Five-Generation eighties On average Urq owners are between Twenty-five and forty-five with Audi donimating WRC, SCCA and IMSA during the eighties and early ninties we now can afford these machines where as a teenager in High school could only dream. We wanted it back then we can afford it now.

Will they continue to appreciate? They should and I know everyone on this forum hopes so.

Default In Germany they have been up since about the swith from DM to Euro, whenever that was......

20v cars are unheard of for under 20k Euro, and the good low mile examples close to 35k Euro.
I was lucky with my '85 when I got it back in 2000, I would have to pay 15k Euro or more for it now.
Piece of junk go for 5-7k Euro.. it's a good market for any nice mid 80's typ 85 in Europe...

I hope so, but seller less than 4 feedback and the buyer only 1? I would take this "sale" with a big grain of salt.

Default Very true. Audi has helped boost the value of our cars, even though they don't support us with

parts availability.

(BTW Kid, in your sig it should be Treser, not Tresser. ;^) )
