I never heard of Oettinger doing 5 cylinder cars
They are well known for four cylinder VW stuff, much of which could possibly transfer to the I5, but there really isn't any documentation on Oettinger ur qs.

I understand they did. I believe they even offered a 5 cylinder stroker crank.

Not sure about an Ur-Q, but, a friend here in Santa Cruz, CA. owned a 1984 Oettinger 4000 quattro since new up until a couple of years ago now. As I recall, it was stroked to 2.3L (NA engine) and made really good power (compared to a stock 4kq such as my daily beater). It was white with a body kit, custom Recarro interior, suspension mods, etc. I really wanted to buy it for the longest time...but it fetched way too much for me to pay for a 4kq (it went for ~$6k).

I'm glad you posted that, because I had nothing but word of mouth. =)
The displacement sounds about right. |
Seems odd to stroke a 2.2 to just 2.3. Sure it wasn't bored out?
