Default Aslo... starting/car dying

WHen i first start the car.. after it catches on and starts running... i have to give it gas for 30 seconds or so to keep it running, or it just puts and dies on me.

Also.. even after driving for 30 mins (so the engine is definately warm) going from higher (3k) rpm to idle, it just dies sometimes.

This an idle control valve? I had an old 4k that did the same thing sometimes.

What about starting.. cold start valve?

Default Re: Aslo... starting/car dying ...could be both...

...but I'm guessing seeing that mine sometimes takes a pump of the gas to get running.

Default Ok, i checked some wires...

One was completely broken loose on the switch that is pressed when the gas is pressed to the floor... sorry i don't know the name. Boost throttle? So thats why that wasn't working. Reattached.

But the one that is released when you actually press the gas is connected fine. I don't have a voltemeter or whatever to check it... but i assume its working because the car is at least attempting to idle.

I don't know what to do

My 4kq did something similar. When moving in gear, when I would go to toss it in neutral, the revs would drop, car would stumble, but catch itself. Coolant temp sensor was the culprit, it fixed my very hard starting problems too.

Default PROBLEM SOLVED

I raised the idle a little bit... 1100 RPM (hee hee)

Adjusted the fuel mixture.

Sitting at stop lights is almost as joyful as driving now....

well not really
