Default Did some body and Paint on1985 UR Quattro

https://www.audiworld.com/forums/alb...albumid=160378

The UR Quattro is on a short list of 1980's cars I still really like. Others include the Toyota MR2,(I own a really clean one) and the Renault R5 Turbo.

Forgot how much lighter the older Audis feel to drive. My first was an 87 4000 Q sedan. Had the smallest trunk and the world, was very boxy in styling, but I loved that car. Got totaled while parked in front of my house-no way for a great 4 wheel drive car to die.

Did some paint work on the one in the link above for a client, and it brought back memories of my long gone 4000Q. Some of the lower areas were pretty trashed, and an idiot had keyed the car in several places. That car really drives nice-actually amazing for a 25 year old car from that period. I now own a 2002 A4 1.8T Quattro, and its obvious they both came from the same place, even if it is from two very different eras. the turbo comes on much higher RPM than the newer Audis, but it is still a powerful car that drives great.

I like the rear deck not being flat black. I'm thinking of doing the same to mine when i paint it. Looks much better imo. I wonder what it does for rear glare tho. Any effect?

It was a factory finish, 1982-'84 had the flat black treatment.
"85 and up were all body color including the spoiler.

Hope this helps.
