Euro light question

Euro light question
I got my set of Cibie h1/h4 euro lights in the mail yesterday. I got them at a great deal, but they didn't come with the mounting brackets.
Do these lights even need brackets or can I just bolt them onto the car? Does anyone know where I could find a set of brackets? I've searched everywhere and I can't find a set.
Europrice has the trim pieces, brackets and everything, but I just can't see paying $208 for those few little pieces.
If anyone knows where I can find some, LMK, I could really use them.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Euro light question
You do need some brackets. If you are real handy, you could probably make them, but of course perfect fit equals less need to aim them!
The older style are 2 plastic "L" brackets per lamp. The upper euro lights mount sit flush under the radiator cross brace and require no mods to work. The newer brackets that also work are one piece per lamp and about $90 per set before shipping from your source.

Euro Light Answer
The plastic pieces from the older cars (flat, not sloped headlights) are two L pieces for the bottom and one angled piece for the top of each light. When I bought my lights in the motherland, I made sure to ask for the pieces. The bottom plastic "L"s look to still be available, though the top one is NLA. The bottom pieces are listed on impex's site, www.vwparts.com at $2.xx a piece, though I haven't tried ordering these parts from them. I only have one of the top plastic pieces, but with the light anchored at three points, it's not going anywhere. Part numbers for the plastic ones:
855 941 121 (x2 per light), bottom pieces
855 941 121 A (x1 per light), top piece
The newer metal pieces were 25 and 35 euros each in Germany at the dealer that I went to. So, factor in shipping and markup, blau, europrice, force5, etc. sell them in the $60 each range, definitely reasonable if you're not going to Germany anytime soon or don't have a friend there that would do you a favor. Part numbers for those are:
855 941 117 (left)
855 941 118 (right)
I could be wrong on the sides.
Good luck fitting the lights, they're definitely worth it.

READ - BRACKET
without a doubt you need a bracket to make this work, you can go and try to make a bracket as others suggested, but i must say it is already made and fits PERFECTLY into the car so why bother. you can buy a set of these brackets from BLAUFERGNUGEN: http://www.audiquattroparts.com/
speak to keith.
this is the kit that i used and they have all the additional trim pieces

Re: Euro Light Answer
Which way did you end up going? Were the older style lower brackets still available or did you go with the newer ones. OR, did you fab up your own? Just wondering.
