Default Front Sway Bar Installation Question

I am having problems getting a front sway bar installed. I cannot seem to be able to force
the rear mounting points into position. Do I
need a tool to press the bars back into position
or is the problem that I have the front suspension hanging down because the car is on jack stands and the operation needs to be done with the tires having contact with the ground or floor ramps? TIA.

Default If you have one, use a bottle jack .....

and put it under the ball joint to jack up the control arm.
