Default K26 Turbo trouble

It has been a while. How is everyone doing. I am glad because I Just got my car back from a major service. It is running great but exhaust is putting out a lot of white smoke. I am thinking it is turbo blow by. Turbo has no boost, and makes a siren sound(and no vaccuum leaks). My question is How easy is it to replace the turbo? How do I go about removing the turbo(Location is hard to get to)? Is it something a beginner can do? Where can I find a replacement? Or should I have it rebuilt. Thanks in advance. Regards, Bas

Default Turbo issues...

Pulling the turbo isn't too bad of a job for someone used to fixing these cars...
A bit of stuff must be removed out of the engine bay in order to access the unit, and the oil lines etc.
Mostly time, and paitence is the biggest help.
I recently did this, and can hook you up with a write up, and some picutes.

Easier yet..
You can pull off the output hose from the turbo, which goes to the charge air cooler, and check for any great presense of oil in the hose.
This would indicate a bad bearing oil seal.

Thanks for the reply! I would love it if you had a write up on this procedure. The mechanic that worked on it said that the turbo was bad. So I guess I have to replace it. Is there anyone that might have a spare good condition turbo? Also I just found out my switch that activates the differential lock is inop. Could it be the switch? or is it a vacuum line?
I would love to know if there are any Uri's located in Tucson Arizona(would love to get together) Again thanks in advance.

Bastiaan

Switch is vacuum not electric. Check for leaks. The indicator light switch does not indicate lock or unlock necessarily, especially if it doesn't work!

Oh I see. Probably need to replace some vacuum hoses. Thanks for the advice.
