Quattro just sold on Ebay!

Am i alone in thinking that someone just got themselves a smoking deal ?
From reading the ad, the questions and looking over the pictures, the car seems to be very very nice.

The prices on all kinds of collectors cars are off. I see early Porsche's are off the highs as well. One thing about the TQC - they can be awful expensive to maintain and parts are getting scarce. I think for those of us that have them the joy is in the driving and not necessarily the appreciation value. I would buy a 72 or 73 911 E or S for collecting, but no way as fun to drive as my TQC.

I'm the one who won the auction. I've been looking for a clean example for a while and I've definitely found one. The underside is as clean as I've seen and the body is pretty straight. I'm pretty happy with the purchase but I wouldn't say I stole it. If I could afford the premium over the '83, I may have gone that route. BTW, I haven't seen an '84-'86 for sale for less than $14k in my search.

Take it from someone who has had both under hood fuse boxes and in car. Both have had gremlins, but my 81 has had no electrical problems due to the boxs location. I dare say my pretty stock, but maintained, car will run with the best of the later cars and no way I'd drop the price because of fuse box location. I'd say you did pretty well depending on what you find later and how well it holds up. As a dyed in the wool used car guy, I feel most mechanicals and exteriors stuff can be brought up to snuff, so I place heavy emphasis on interiors and yours looks pretty good.
Good luck.
Good luck.
