first of all hello!
i have an '83 10v ur-quattro with a problem (that's a new one)
whether the car is cold or hot the car "seems" to stumble to 3000 rpm and then all of a sudden the car runs fine and accelerates like a bat out of hell. i should also mention that the car has an intended acceleration chip and a 2 bar wastegate spring. under full pressure i see a consistent 14.5 PSI.
parts that have been replaced recently: fuel pump, air temp sensor, spark plugs, air and fuel filters, fuel injectors and o-rings . . . . and that's all that i can think of.
any ideas??
what should i check??
thank you in advance,
ben
ps anyone else from nyc area???

I saw this one in person at that kids house in CT.....
Could be a bunch of things clogged cat?
Could be the waste gate setup
Could be ....a bad knock sensor
Can you get the blink codes.
Something like so should blink cause the codes to blink.
Cheers

I have a similar problem with mine...
...stumbles a little right around 2500rpm on it's way to 3000. Not a bad stumble but enough to **** me off. I too have the AI stage ii set up. I don't thnik the set up has anything to do with it becusae my buddies 85 does the same thing and it's stock. weird.

DEVIL. . . i bought this car from a kid in CT,
his initial problem was that the fuel pump only saw 10.5 volts so i put a relay in and fed the fuel pump more juice . . . that problem was solved in 5 mins!
next problem the car was leaning out . . . long story short, brand new fuel pump in the car problem solved!
from 3000 rpm until "red-line" 6000 rpm this car runs, REALLY RUNS.
i've toyed with the idea that it is a vacuum leak (god help me!) i've checked many hoses.
would the idle switch cause this problem if it is shorting out? maybe from when the switch is disengaged there is a delay? or maybe the full throttle switch has a delay? anyone with any ideas? would be very appreciated!!!
upgrades:
2bennett adjustable coil-over/koni shock setup
urethane bushings all around
IA chip and wastegate
further modified spring by putting spacers on top of the spring and inverting the spring retainer cap
euro dual headlights
xenon h4 dual headlights with hi and low beam
updated grill
smoked out tailights and center reflector
recaro srd seats and matching cloth for rear seats
momo race shift ****
momo race steering wheel
a4 front brakes and brembo rotors
custom SS exhaust cat-back

Another possibility is that the inside of the gas tank has ****e the bed.
The inside coating can fall off, and clog the fuel filter.
