S2 hubs GB

Can't get into tdfi.com -- might need a replacement hub
What's the price? I tried to register to tdfi but no e-mail acceptance yet.
When replacing a wheel bearing once the shop said the bad bearing put a little grove in the hub, and they wouldn't warantee the new bearing unless I got a new hub. Scam? Anyway I'm replacing a urq bearing soon and which I knew what the price was on this GB should I get the same story on my current urq hub being bad.

S2 hub won't work for an ur quattro. The 5kt/q front hubs are the same as ur quattros.
Well, for the late cars anyway if you want to be picky, but they work fine on early cars too.
S2 hubs are made for the bolt-through outer CVs, not the CVs with the nut on ur quattros.

Urq hub = 5kt/q hub..
Urq hub = 5kt/q hub, but as you'd be looking for a "5k hub", it should be less expensive than a urq hub, right? :-)
I'd think that you should be able to get a 5kt/q hub for almost free, from someone's parts car.
When I had to replace one of the urq's front wheel bearings, I found that the hub had been buggered in a past butchery. One half of the inner bearing looked like it had spun on the hub, with definate score marks on the hub. That, and the fact that I didn't have to press the inner bearing off or on the one half of the hub. Bearing just slid on..!
However, in you case, you can pull the hub out, and take a look at it before you commit and put the hub and bearing back together. You hub may be in just fine shape!
