So how much power can 10vT make?

Fully decked out they're near 600 as the trans am cars
Technically the forced induction would overcome any benefit the 20V has over the 10V in terms of max absolute power. The 20V breaths better down low and creates better response sooner.
Constant reliable power should be around 400 with considerable turbo lag.

http://www.autocollections.com/moreinfo.cfm?key=1158</a

Was it a black 85? It was heavily modded (lotta internal stuff)...
...I've got about 250hps in mine (based on IA's stage II setup). Dahlback's 20vt's have about 1150hps depending on the model. Rumor had it that Audi was going to run the 1988 WRC with a new A2/S2 20vt with close to 1100hps but they pulled out after the Ford-into-the-spectators incident. That technology was switched to the IMSA/Trans-Am cars.

Dahlback should change his website...
He claims on his dyno run only 500 to the wheels and "depending on turbo 600-900 hp" in text form. WRT the IMSA GTO and other audi "efforts", boost was dialed up at the discretion of the Motorsport director. Towards the end of the season it was known to sport 900hp more often than not. The 10vt in Pierburg CIS trim was known to sport 400hp when "a bit extra" was required for a specific race (I can recall only Blomqvist getting the nod once - a boost thing), but was the standard 360HP for audisport publications. The 510HP number was the 10vt with Motronic in the 200trans am.
My own thinking is that ANY number is possible: once. Audisport was known to have a pretty reliable 900hp 20vt motor ready for competition based on the GTO 720 motor.
Boom was the main reason drivers weren't allowed to touch the schrapnelknobben; ever.

Speaking of updating websites, how's yours coming....
WRT the imsa GTO my info is off the 4' x 2.5' vintage poster and it reads 720hp and 1000hp during qualifing. WRT to Dalhback's golf sorry to hear your out of the loop and didn't hear the story. But I'll pass on to him that QSHIPQ thinks he should update his site.
