I searched the archives but could not find any definite answer. How do you tell the top from the bottom? Can you actually install them upside down? I should clarify I can tell the front from the rear.

I remember Steve Earley's Ur-Quattro had the springs mis-installed. The result: Front was heavily lowered, and the rear was heavily raised.

I had mine installed with the "Dead" coils at top which I think put the Logos and writing upside down. I just felt that there was no need to have those coils become upsprung weight (however small it might be). If you use the top perch as a guide, you will notice that it fits on both the "Bottom" and "Top" of the coil.

Yeah you are right! I finally got through to someone at H&amp;R and they said to install them like you did with the dead coils at the top and lettering upside down and thats how mine are in.
