Will an aluminum radiator....
provide sufficient cooling without the aux. unit?
Just curious...I want maximum assurance that the engine will not overheat.

Even a stock rad...

Even a stock rad will pretty well work in all situations. Works ok for me, but then, I've never tracked the urq either.
In fact, I've never seen anyone that had problems after removing the aux rad.
Anyone?

Aluminum radiator will provide abundant cooling. I was driving through the CA desert at speeds higher than indicated on any signs I saw, with the A/C on at full blast and had no issues at all.
Although I do know folks with stock radiators that don't have problems either.

Funny Guy, that Steven fellow..! :-)
If that's true, then you must live in Northern BC!
I'm only about 200 miles north of you. Southern Ontario gets summer somtimes too, you know!

No problems

On 90's the aux rad was designed to fail, so most of them are gone. Unless it's way too hot outside and you're trashing it, you shouldn't have any problems.
I have an aluminum rad without the aux pushing a few more HP than stock and it does run hot, but as long as I keep moving it's fine.

Re: No problems
Were you at a rally cross in the Rochester area late last summer? I saw your car, have a few pictures of it (nothing great). If so, which guy were you? I had the conquest.

Yes
Which guy was I? Not sure how to answer that one, maybe the fast one...ha!
I've been running out there for years on and off. When I have a car that's running, that would be an on.
I'd like to see the pictures in any event.
I also used to run my 90 out there. Check my pic poster for those shots.
