WX blown out exhaust manifold gasket
I'm back from a long quattro hiatus. Im working on a 1984 USA urq with blown exhaust gasket right at the head on #2. nuts are all in place, proper clearances everywhere so mount has not collapsed..i got to pull it all out anyway so I'll have a chance to look for cracks too. Anyone had this happen? To keep the conversation constructive, I have rebuilt/restored a few 10v and 20v 200s, but im a newbie to the urq. thanks everyone.

Hello,
Most likely you also have cracks in the manifold. reason, = busted and burned out motor mount below the turbo, needs a new one.
Dismantle the manifold; lots of work. Check for cracks and how plan it is in regards to the 5 mounting points. In case no good, have it planed.
Replace the motor mount and assemble it all back together. Use only original AUDI gaskets, all the AM stuff is crap.
