Default Brake Pad Warning Light after New Brake Pad??

I have changed both front and rear brake pads couple days ago. I used EBC redstuff and it feels great.

However, I had the brake pad warning light came on my dashboard.

Does anyone know why it comes on?
Should I take it to a dealer?

My factory warranty expired but I have my extented warranty if this is something that can be taken care by warranty.

Thanks.

Did you properly connect the sensor wire? May have come loose. May be defective in new pad.

I might have to check those tomorrow. I know they have sensors for each side and it was properly wired.

I think there is a chance it might became loose.

Thanks.

I hope it's the simple solution. Loose wire or bad pad. Probable test the pad sensor with a meter.

It was the sensor wire. I just had to reconnect the wire and it worked just fine.

Thanks

Same experience for me as well. My rear pads were worn down to about 1-2mm and no light at all.

So just to clarify, can the rears actually trigger the brake pad indicator on the car?

My brake pad indicator light came on about 100 miles ago and I had assumed the fronts were the priority to be replaced so did that this past weekend. The indicator did not reset so I am now wondering if the rears are keeping the light on.

This is 100% curiosity at this point since I have the brakes/rotors to do the rear, I just didn't get around to it at the same time.

Any thoughts?
