New S6 as a Replacement?
My RS6 went bye bye about 4 years ago. My DRC never gave me any trouble, but the ride was harsh, harsh, harsh. The new S6 looks like it will have the same air suspension as the S8, so great ride, but not quite as much HP as the 2003 beast. Does anyone else think the active rear diff should make the driving dynamics nearly as good?
So the question is:
Does anyone consider the new car as a worthy successor to the RS6?

Worthy successor? That's relative I guess - I've been trying to find a car that does everything my RS6 does for at least the last four years. The S6 is the first car that even comes close as a replacement. I think it'll be as fast or faster to 100 - and let's face it, that's all that really matters in the US - with all the style and functionality to boot. It's still a 4.0 twin turbo V8 with quattro and headroom for more power (see the new S8 with same motor).
Is it an RS? No. I fully expect the C7 RS6 to better the C7 S6 - but that's IF it comes here (read the articles closely, none actually mention that the sedan is coming to the US). Only the avant has actually been spotted and we all know how much chance an RS avant has of coming to the US. I hope I have to eat crow, but the RS4 is avant-only and a lot more of those were made last time around.
So S6 I go - we'll see. At least I won't be eating so much maintenance cost
