I'm new to the forum. I have a opportunity to purchase a dream car if mine, 03 rs6. I went to test drive it and when I shifted into drive it went into drive fine, but S mode or manual wasn't registering, it was like a red bar where the gear indicator is. Had to get it to about 3k to get it to move forward, and it didn't have much power. Brought it back and shut it off, told the guy and we went back out and started it up and all was ok, the gear indicator was back all modes worked and it tried to put me in the back seat like their supposed to do. Does anybody know what this could be? Is it a sensor or possibly bad tranny?

P.s. I checked on multiple sites and couldn't find a thread about this specific issue

If you have vagcom, pulling the codes would be a good first start. I would also recommend that you visit and join www.rs6.com as that is where most of us are that own or have a lot of experience with the rs6.
