"Reprogramming" to enable "front aux lights - aka fog lights" to be on w/o lows
 

I read a thread that the "headlight control module" ( WTF..?) can be dealer programmed to operate with the parking lights ( first position of headlight switch) on and low beams off, and with lows as is comes from the factory. Is this a load of BS or what? I would sure like to be able to use them w/o the low beams like I can on my POS Jeep Liberty but thought a new switch ( like Euro spec headlight switch seen for other VWs ) to obtain. Any advice greatly appreciated.
