2017 RS7 gets 605HP
I thought that Audi was changing (redesigning) the rear end on the 2017 models, guess not.
Sheesh, 605HP stock now...

I'm curious how much of increase in price for the "Performance" vs. "Regular"?
From photos shown...the "Performance" version exterior looks the same...except for the Titanium trim. Interior have Sport seat with Alcantara inserts and color ambient light instead of white ambient light. Not too much difference between the two cosmetically. Probably no one can tell if you have the "Performance" vs "Regular" RS7 except when u start racing.

My guess would be much like the BMW M5 standard and then they have that competition package or something like that. I bet it will be a pretty penny more for the Performance version.
I'm mostly glad to know that they are keeping the rear end the same for 2017, but yeah 605HP stock would be nice too

More info to ferret out
FWIW, questions to figure out for the USA are whether or not it is replacing the existing motor, what the pricing will be, when it will be available, and what are the other detail tweaks.
BTDT on the S8 Plus. Audi seems to be trying to keep a lid on it, but there the Plus is replacing the existing 520HP version for U.S. sales. You won't find that on the web site of course, nor in any Audi press. Like with the S8 Plus, the RS6/7 press release seems written on a "world" basis (especially w/ no RS6 even here), so you are left to guess or "assume" what may play out. In Europe it is an optional upgrade, but not here for the S8 specifically. Recent order guide already shows the 520HP one is no longer available for order on an S8, but doesn't have price yet on 605HP. My guess is by eliminating the prior version as well as separating out the carbon brakes, exhaust and higher speed limiter package, the base price may not move much and more of the premium may be in that package. They are also going to market with it as a 2016 apparently; due pretty soon now.
Given that path on the S8 Plus, I would not be a happy camper if I had just paid full boat on the "prior" one, both nominally called 2016's at that. Alternately for existing S8's where the market is probably softer, I would be looking for some further dealing.
