Another newbie reporting in
I picked up my '16 RS7 last night at my local dealer. I traded in my '13 Panamera GTS. Glacier white, black sport seats, driver assistance package (I wouldn't have ordered it), 21" black wheels, and the spring (not air) suspension with sport exhaust, red calipers, etc.
Wow - this puppy is fast! The Panamera was no slouch but this thing is a rocket sled. Again - wow. All the electronics/nav/stereo/etc systems are entirely different from the Porsche, so I'm at the bottom of a long learning curve.
I'm not entirely a newbie here. This is my 13th Audi Quattro, an unbroken string which started in 1986 with a 4000 CS Q and lasted until 2010. I've had a couple of Quattro Coupes; a couple of twin turbo S4's; 3 S4 Avants; and an RS4, among others.
I left the world of Audi in 2010 after they stopped importing the S4 Avant. I wanted a station wagon with awd and decent power. There was no such car in existence, but then I discovered the Panamera. Sure it has a lumpy butt for a sedan,
but I thought it didn't look so bad if I looked at it as a station wagon. My original Panamera 4S became my Panamera GTS in 2013, but I've been eyeing the RS7 since the day it was announced. One thing led to another and I finally took the plunge.
Did I mention this thing feels seriously fast? On the street it feels like it pulls almost as hard as my GT3. I wouldn't put it up against the GT3 on the track, but as a daily driver it rocks.
So my first step is a second set of wheels (20") and snow tires for skiing, and a set of roof racks for the bicycles. I don't think there's much of anything else to be done to it. Except to drive it, of course!
