Audi RS7 Recall and Stop Sale
Crazy day.
Was trading in my 2017 RS7 for a 2017 RS7 Performance. Long story, but a worthwhile trade. At dealership signing papers, calling insurance, etc... and the GSM comes over and says we have a problem. Turns out Audi issued a recall on all 2014-2018 RS7s for, get this, the Tire Inflation & Maximum Load sticker on the driver side door jam because it states max load 520kg or 1146 lbs and its supposed to say 920 lbs. Seriously, that is the recall. There is a stop sale on all new inventory until a fix is at dealers and customer notifications will begin in April. I was so pissed having been in the final moments of my transaction and the dealers can't sell the cars because it is Federal violation. Audi USA says there is no timeframe for the fix. Pathetic |
Hmm...I just entered my 2016 RS7 VIN# into Audi Recall/Service Campaign Lookup website...It did not come up with this recall or any service campaign.

Just do a google search. It is already on cars.com. |
Here's the information but I don't see anything regarding stop sale. Appears to only be for Performance version.

With all recalls, Audi orders a stop-sale of all inventory until the fix is completed. It is is a federal law. It sucks because it’s a flipping sticker that has no bearing on how the car runs or how the car performs, as well as safety. It encompasses all RS7s, not just performance models. |
I just did the audi recall look-up with my VIN and since I don't have a performance and have the air suspension, there is no active recall on my car.

Just checked my VIN again and it has shown up for my 2017 RS7.
SUMMARY:The tire information label on affected vehicles erroneously lists a combined maximum weight of 1146 lbs/520 kg, rather than the correct combined maximum weight of 992 lbs/470 kg. If someone were to rely on the incorrect label information, there is a risk of overloading the vehicle.SAFETY RISK:If someone were to rely on the incorrect label information, there is a risk of overloading the vehicle.REMEDY:Replace the tire information label. RECALL STATUS:Recall INCOMPLETE |

I purchased my 2016 RS 7 through a broker, who purchased it from an Audi dealer, and nothing came up until I did the check myself and found the recall. I just went to my local dealership and asked to have the sticker replaced while I was there (they measured my brake pads in the first 5 minutes I was there). One hour later I was told they were out of the stickers and that I would get a call when more are in.....
