Default Went from S8 to RS7...

Ive owned over 10 Audi's from A4's, to S4's ,a 03 RS6 (my favorite) A7's, S6 and most recently a 2013 S8 and just recently traded it in for a CPO 14 RS7 Dynamic Edition. I had the S8 for over 2 years and it was always a bit too refined for me, almost too comfortable and too muted with its exhaust, etc. Great ride, never really drove it all that fast, just wasn't all that exciting, don't get me wrong super fast when I wanted it to be, i just always wanted something a little more sporty. After owning the RS7 for about 2 weeks here are the pros and cons vs the S8.

Pros of RS7 over S8:

-Looks better overall
-Better wheels
-Love the red honeycomb stitching on the seats, i.e red seat belts
-Feels ALOT faster, even though may not be that much faster
-More nimble, very level in the corners, S8 felt piggish
-Exhaust note is amazing in "dynamic" mode vs the S8.
-Luggage space is better, seats fold down, etc
-Throttle response better

Pros of S8 over RS7

-Better interior overall (leather surfaces, seats, rear seat headroom)
-Miss the massage seats
-Ahhh thats about it...

If anyone is considering the change I would highly recommend it.....the RS7 has been a great change if anyone is considering the move!

Just my two cents.....

Thanks for input. you might want to post this in S8 section. Everyone here has RS7's. :-)

I still feel like RS7 are too muted... too boaty.

Even reviews say that. Exhaust on sport should be louder and ride should be MUCH stiffer.

My old AMG E63, was soft as a cat when on normal mode, but turn on AMG mode and it turned in a full on race car. I LOVED it! Love that rush and feel of suddenly driving a full on race car.

shoot kind of miss it now...

RS7's with the DRC suspension address the boaty feel, its like driving on rails without being too harsh, one can do really hard turns and the car doesn't pitch whatsoever - amazing experience feeling so solidly planted, better feel than an R8 with mag-ride IMO!

The sports exhaust with all the pops and crackles is a melody, add a Roc-Euro 4.0TT Intake System is a raucous symphony together with the wastegate purges.

have to agree with you on this one as i have tested it on a tight turn rated at 35 MPH (hit the turn at 85 MPH and was exiting at 120 MPH....felt solid

WOW! really?! OMG i wish i knew that!

damn... i never lose traction in my RS7, but i definitely feel the body roll.

The DRC sounds amazing. And I thought it was all hype!

Gosh... awfully envious now!

Wanted to get RS7 Performance but went with S8 Plus mainly because of ventilated seats (my back gets sweaty otherwise).
