Watch the mileage when you pick up. :-)

Default there remain five possibilities.

(1) the director misunderstood something.
(2) the reporter misunderstood something.
(3) your clock is incorrect.
(4) your car was exported before scheduled test drive.
(5) you read 40 miles on the clock as 4.0 miles.

those are small problems. the car is light, precise, and gorgeous.

Default I don't know much about the RS4 production but...

I've seen a few videos of the new A8 production. After an A8 is finished they drive them and run them on a dyno for at least 25 miles. I have never seen a new A8 with over 25 miles on the odometer. They usaully have around 10 miles. I have seen ones that have 10 miles on the odometer and the "trip" part of the odometer has 30 miles on it. I've been told they roll the odometers over to zero.

I'd prefer the signature by a test driver to genuine roll of the odometers.

Default too fine tuning! I must write #7...

#7: there must be some code to make the odometer ZERO.

Default Porsche has done the same thing for many years

That was a big selling feature of the 993s and other 911 models - that each car was test driven by a factory driver. I believe that the test miles don't actually 'count' since it's part of the vehicle's production.
