Default 275/30 RE-01R on stock wheels installed. OMG. Amazing grip on these tires...

On the way home from the dealer where I had them installed I took my favorite off-ramp as usual (ohio street feeder from southbound I-94) and bombed into it at the usual speed that would start to make the stock Pirelli Rossos start to scream in protest. Despite it being a cooler night than it has been lately (65 degrees), the newly installed bridgestones held on to the road like a champ without making so much as even a little squeak. If anything, I could almost swear I heard the tires say "is that all you got?" I thought the gains over the Pirellis would be modest at best but it quickly became clear that this tire has more in common with a race tire than a max performance summer tire in terms of grip. I can't wait to take it to the track! Like Evil Buddha and others have said, no problems with fit or suspension/fender clearance so far, even when pushed hard into turns. I'll post some pics this weekend if anyone's interested.

Default I'm glad you like them; I would hate to be accused of giving out bad advice. They really are.......

sweet aren't they; I can't wait to hear how you do at the track with them. Don't forget to send in that rebate.

Default oh btw, when I picked up my car at the dealer where I had the tires installed...

They had an R8 Press vehicle sitting in the service driveway. I know I've proclaimed myself to be an "R8-hater" in the past but I'll eat those words as of today. It's truly a beautiful car in person. I had a hard time picking up my jaw off the floor and getting back into my pos RS4 (by comparison) immediately after. <crosspost> Excuse the crappy flash-less poorly-composed iphone pics...

What an impressive machine to behold in person! Sat inside and was treated to one of the nicest interiors I've ever sat in (supercars included). Somehow ended up chatting with someone who referred to himself as the dealership's R8 specialist (which he certainly seemed to be considering our conversation and the amount of technical information he knew about the car). He went on about the process of acquiring one and about submitting a letter of intent etc.... one thing led to another and looks like I'll be in line for one. Not for a while though, probably even an '09 model considering the low predicted allocations.

Default Just so you know..that one isn't US spec trim

The orange and red side reflectors are missing and the front bumper is different. Also on the rear the bottom middle fog light is not present on US spec cars.

Sounds great. Is your suspension stock height? I am wondering if the tires will fit when combined with Stasis.

Default Yes they are amazing tires. Careful when pushing it on new tires you need to break them in...

Also as much as they stick they are no where near an R compound tire like a Kumho V710 in the dry or even on damp/wet road (without standing water).

So far I can't complain about their rain performance. It's a very good tire no doubt.
