2nd DRC FAILURE this year!
yep, my '07 RS4 is back at the dealership awaiting parts for yet another DRC failure. this one seemed worse than the first in that the rear was starting to sound heinous almost as though a troll was living in my fenderwell.
i'm not a bit surprised that it's my second given how many threads i came across today when researching the topic (i haven't lurked around here for some time now).
not happy to say the least and extremely disappointed in Audi. they issued a "critical alert" on the needed parts (Germany) and am hoping that it won't take too long to receive them. i'll have to do with my rented Prius (courtesy of the dealer) until then.
do i win any awards or are there other 2 time defending champs out there?

replace DRC AGAIN!! Go with stasis......you can get the SLs pretty cheap, and I bet get Audi to dothe install for free if you push the DRC issue.........

Re: 2nd DRC FAILURE this year!
I am currently working on my first. I was aware that my fronts were leaking but luckly not making any noise yet. I took my car in for its 35k service and did not tell the service adviser. When I got my car back I was told everything was looking good. I then asked if they checked the shocks for any leaking and there was an uncomfortable pause and my car was put back on the lift. Guess what they found...leaking shocks on the front. I was told by the service adviser that they would order new shocks and it would be covered by warrenty. I then got a call later on from the service adviser and he told me when he did a search for the part number via my VIN number that it did not even show DRC being on my car and if I could bring it back in to get the part number off the shocks. For an ongoing issue like this that Audi should be aware off, that seems kinda silly. Anyway, crossing my fingers that this goes smoothly...yea right!

Re: yes you win an award..............
holy cow! i've now read about some owners who have faced a third drc failure.....that's incredible (in my best kathy lee crosby impersonation)!!
now that i think of it, i can't remember the last time my car actually rode as it should. mine is leased, have another year+ left, and won't entertain upgrading the suspension.
if the market wasn't in shambles i'd sell it and buy an M3, tomorrow.
alas

I wonder if these 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. "failures" are actual failures...
I'm sure the first one is, but if dealers don't know what they are doing and don't fix the problem properly. Then a few weeks later the DRC fails again is that really the same type of failure?
Audi really needs to step up and make sure techs know how to fix DRC issues correctly the first time, but that won't happen.
Of course I agree there shouldn't be a failure to begin with, but that's another issue.
