35K mile service, tech overfills oil by at least 2 quarts
2007 RS4. Picked up my car today after service, felt a weird vibration in the car when revving engine above 1200 rpms all the way to 2200 rps, then moderating. Commented to tech that vibration wasnt there before, he says nothign he did would cause that must be normal (its not). I drive home thinking a vacuum line got unplugged and after I go through everythign on a hunch I check oil level. Yep, 2 full inches above full. WTF. Is this where the vibration is coming from, my crankshaft is drowning in oil? I drove 10 miles home and now have to drive 10 back tomorrow. Am I or have I done any damage? Really freaking out here any help would be great.

I think I would drain out the 2+ quarts that it got overfilled by, or have it towed to dealer, maybe call service dept in the morning. Check your owner's manual on checking oil level, FSI engines may be different than non-FSI.
According to many other posts (and what's in the owner's manual), Audi engines are sensitive to overfills, don't want to damage the CATs or blow out engine seals by over-pressure in the crankcase.
Found this cool Audi SSP on 4.2 FSI Engine

Shows details of fine oil separator (crankcase ventilation) and oiling system. A good read.

Towed it back in . Turns out the used an extractor to pull the oil, prob. left a quart in there and then filled it to S4 specs (not RS4). The vibration was the crankshaft immersed in oil. They apologized and paid for the tow but sheesh there are RS4 badges every 12 inches on this car.

overfilled
Definitely tow it and make sure it gets documented as this may shorten the life of the catalytics.
and most definitely will increase the carbon build up in the intake system.
sadly it no longer makes a difference wether is an independent or a dealer when it comes to things like this.
hope never happens again.
