Default I could have had my dad's 997 "S" at a great price. I'm going with the RS4

.

Default The Porsche is the better sports car. However, RS4 is a better package w/ versatility+value

It's a "limited edition" car, and probably will hold its value better on the long run than the Porsche.

If you're looking for a second car, the weekend/track sports car, go Porsche.

Default I have logged about 5K miles in the 997S, and performance wise, it turns 0-60 in 3.9 all day long.

via the sport chrono pack as well as other times...for a performance car the 997S handles the RS4 with ease....for a daily, the 997S is a great easy daily, but the RS4 is more civilized.
I would love an RS4, think its a great car, but doors and drivetrain, all things equal I take the 997S....

BTW the 997S is Speed Yellow on Blk, Sport Chrono, PSM, Nav+ 6MT, Lower Drivers seats, contrast stitching and belts, 19's, painted seat backs, also Porsche factory performance exhaust (goes straight pipe after 5K) & EVO Intake. I will up load some pictures...

For fun/performance did you consider a Cayman S? Pretty good value...
