Default Add me to the list of those with shipping blocks left in place

Looking at my car yesterday, the front wheel gap just looked a bit too great. Remembering the post by LarryV, I decide to jack it up at take a look. Here is the partial shipping block I found on the driver's side. I'm sure the other piece fell out somewhere. I jacked up the passenger side and didn't see the shipping block on that side. I'm sure these eventually break and fall out onto the road.

Now why aren't these consistently getting removed during PDI? It makes you wonder what else is getting missed. Did they really change the spark plugs?

Default

And can is cause any handling issues, like at the track?

Default I don't know. My car has been babied thus far.

The handling differences on the street are subtle.

Default People breathing down dealer neck and arriving at dealer almost ahead of their car...

chomping at the bit to take delivery is probably rushing the PDI process, is all I can figure. There is an extensive checklist to be checked off, but you know how that goes. For the dealer techs not to go for the shipping blocks as soon as they have it up on rack first time seems strange.

Default amazing. I checked mine after reading larryV's post, but didn't find anything.

but the car had about 1600 miles on it at that point, so who knows if they had already fallen out.

I gave my dealer 2 days to PDI mine. Just carelessness, IMHO.

Default Sorry, didn't mean you specifically...but what I'm seeing in general here...

with some people trying to drive theirs off the lot late in evening. It's careless any way you cut it, I agree.

Default I dropped the car off for the clear bra today and double checked with them

that mine were removed. They said the ride would be extremely harsh if they were left on.

Anyway, I am enjoying a Kia Rio for the day. This thing gets pretty scary at around 60mph.

Default It almost seems Audi should issue a TSB on the shipping blocks, lol...

such as: "The brightly colored polyurethane inserts at the shocks do not belong there. Remove at once". Or you'll be sent back to factory tech training for 3 months w/o salary.

Pretty pathetic!

I didn't take it personally. And you are right.
