Advice Needed: Bridgestone RE-01R vs Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s
Hey Guys and Gals,
Have been using the Conti SportContact 3s that came with my car for the past 15k miles and it is time for a new pair of shoes.
Has anyone had the opportunity to use both the PS2s and RE01Rs on the RS4 on the street and track to determine a favorite?
Which one would you get and why?
Many thanks in advance.

I had 275/30ZR19 RE-01Rs on my first 07 RS and they were the $h!t ASAP I will replace the stock.....
Conti's on my 08 with another set of 275/30ZR19
RE-01R's. It does seem like the Conti's are better then the PZ's that came stock on the first car.

Both are excellent tires. The RE-01Rs are a semi R compound tire so they stick a bit more but ...
The PS2s may last a little bit longer and may give you a better ride (softer sidewall).

Nice but...............
The as far as I know RE-01R's are the closest thing you can get to an R compound tire and still be DOT and good in the wet. They are 140 wear so I will only got about 6K out of them. I used to race the 07 in autocross and the track. That is the kind of performance I want from my tire; life span is not an issue. BTW I don't race the new 08 but I like having the grip.
Thanks

It is a lot but they make it up in the extra performance they give. Personally if you are not...
Going to track the car perhaps the PS2s are a better choice.

Yes, but how much of the extra grip is due to the rubber compound vs. the extra width.....
Seems to me that the best way to go would be PS2's in 275/30/19. You get the extra width. You also get the best "normal" max performance tire in terms of grip, ride, and noise levels, as well as retaining a 25lb per tire weight.
