after 7 months of ownership, I have 2 complaints about the RS4....

1) under full acceleration from a stop, the owner's manual slides out of the slot under the steering wheel and hits me in the knee.

2) under full braking, the tray under the driver's seat slides out and hits me in the calf.

damn car's falling apart!

Don't carry such a heavy gun under the seat, now you are 1/2 way there.

why is the owner's manual under the steering wheel?

ELEVENS 01-02-2007 06:05 PM

That's where it's supposed to be. Although I keep mine at home.

Timmay 01-02-2007 06:08 PM

Seriously? I had no idea. What's the glovebox for?

ELEVENS 01-02-2007 06:17 PM

Yes,it's a dedicated slot. Glovebox is for, well, gloves!

Snark 01-02-2007 06:32 PM

It's a great feature! The glovebox is left with spacious room.

Easy fix for #1:

put more items (papers, etc) in the manual's binder thing. This will keep it snug in the slot.

On my A4...

the manual fits very snugly and the seat compartment latches shut. Is the tensioner for the manual broken? And is the latch for the seat compartment busted? If so, I'd generously offer to replace your busted old front seats with mine, free of charge :)
