After several weeks driving the Milltek non-res, valved. I say
I love this exhaust. If you're on the fence about non-res, go for it and just put in the resonators if you have to. My wife is still driving the B6 S4 with downpipes and resonated catback and the RS4 sounds so much better. Could be the engine, I understand.
I'm a fairly conservative person and can't have a Honda fart can sounding car. This setup is awesome. I'm still not sure the valves are worth it. The difference in sound is not dramatic with the valves closed. It's a little different, but I still can't accurately describe it. If you have money to blow, then get the valves - why not?
The burps and gurgles between shifts and while winding down a gear is very addictive. The howl under WOT is pretty pleasing too.
I've also had a lot of compliments on the stock rims, suprisingly so.
Love this car.
