After some stripping some dressing up...
The floor board under our feet is not exactly flat and it was a bit a PITA for the feet so I decided to level the playing field.
A thin sheet (1/8" thick) of anti slip, polished aluminium was used for the task. I bought a 4' X 4' piece left over from my friend car's job. The darn thing isn't cheap at $175 but we have enough to do both sides. For now I'm not doing the right side and I decided to hold off on the dead foot too because until we see where the roll cage is going to be situated I won't know if there will be a dead foot.
4 feet by 4 feet sheet of aluminium.

Initial cut out. More trimming will be required to fit properly.

To secure the aluminium piece to the car some steel square tubing and a 90 degree right angle was required. First the square tubing at 1" square and .065 thick.

The right angle a 1" X 1" by 1/8" thick.

Four 6 inch square tubing were used and welded in place.

The right angle welded in place.

All parts were cleaned and then primed.
<img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b79/mlab601/CAR-AluminiumFloorBoard-Sept14th-8.jpg">
All parts were then painted red.

The final assembly looks like this. The aluminium plate was secured to the other parts by using small stainless steel metal screws (not seen).
