Default All season tires/RS4

Hey guys/ gals,
I live in the DC area and am debating on putting all season tires on the RS as I sold my A4 avant which had AS tires due to a divorce... Anyway just trying to get opinions on which ones are liked/disliked.. Thinking about the Michelin pilot sport AS but would like to hear from anyone that has swapped out their OEM tired for AS. Thanks

I would look at the tests by Tire Rack and look at the different catagories to decide what tire fits you best - quiet, dry performance, ice capabilities, etc.

FYI - I run All seasons in the summer for a quiet good wear and decent performance tire. But snow tires for the winter. I use to live near the DC area so I know that you do get snow - If you have to use the car in bad weather and can not call in if the roads are bad then you really really need a dedicated snow tires too.

I hear ya. Just trying to get away from swapping out wheels/tires. It's a royal pain. Thanks for input though

Totally understand - I had to put all seasons on my A4 that my daughter is using at Indiana U because I had no way to store the wheels and tires there since I am in Colorado. The caveat there is she can walk to class or take the bus if the roads are bad.

I run Goodyear F1 A/S's in the winter
I live in the mountains in a snow belt, no issues
I know snow, I lived in AK for 10 years and ran narrow, studded snow tires...
around here no need, I would imagine even less in DC

last year we had snow on the roads only 4 times, and very light at that...they are great at clearing them and use salt/ash...

if you have experience driving in snow the A/S's and quattro should suffice in moderate snow areas...AK and such places obviously require snow tires

I bought my RS used with Good Year F1 All Seasons on it. I can't complain.

I don't have enough room to store a second set of wheels/tires so a A/S tire is my only choice. If I had to replace them today I'd go with either the The Good Year F1 A/S, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus or the Continental ExtremeContact DWS.

On a side note I see The Tire Rack has the Pirelli Winter 270 Sottozero Serie II for a wopping 392.00 each!

Good Year 241-

Michelin 261-

Continental 197-
