Default An alternative mod: weight reduction....

So given the relative lack of meaningful performance mods, has anyone thought of clever ideas to reduce the slightly bloated curb weight of our beloved RS4s? I am not looking to lose any functionality, convenience or luxury, so not an easy task....

What body panels actually weigh enough to make carbon fiber replacements attractive?
What about under-carriage parts?
Are the euro-seats significantly lighter than our US spec ones?

Any good ideas out there or things not to do?

Start with some good light forged wheels. Unsprung weight probably helps the most.

Default the 2 easiest things are aftermarket exhaust and lightweight forged wheels.

that's an easy way to get rid of 50+ lbs.

another 30 lbs can be shed by going with a lightweight battery

another 20+ lbs by getting rid of the tire repair kit, floor mats, and owner's manual.

next step would be to consider getting rid of the back seat, which is about 80lbs IIRC.

so there's 180lbs, which is significant.

Euro seats are significantly lighter, but VERY expensive.

Default sometimes concessions must be made if lightness is a priority.

there really aren't many options for this car if you want really light wheels.
