It will undoubtedly have an amazing engine. If MB develops a DSG-like gearbox, I might want one...
As great as the RS4's 4.2L FSI engine is, I was driving around my 5000+ lb truck today and all the available torque that same 6.2L AMG engine gives throughout the entire rev range made me think for a moment, "damn wish I had this engine in my RS4" ...with the C63 I'd have that, albeit rear wheel drive and not row-your-own, and assuming MB gets the driving dynamics right, and also assuming the amg-styled version of the new C-class isn't fugly. It would meake things very interesting.

M3->S5 is maybe a better, more direct comparo...
And another 'hammer' from AMG costing > 50% over the RS4/M3 and almost 2x the S5.
No comparison here, M-B off in another direction as always...not necessarily a bad thing.

People that want drivers cars dont buy AMG, except for DD duties
Sure they are fast, but ultimately they are always more about luxury and bling then performance.
