Anyone else have an annoying armrest creaking sound.....
Apparently this is not unheard of in the otherwise solid Audi interior. It's obviously not a major problem, just a bit of a nuisance at times. Any quick fixes?

I took my car out for the first time today, and yes.
True to Audi form, there was a creak coming from the rear of the armrest somewhere, and there was also a squeak from the driver's window control trim.
Besides that, my hands are still shaking and my face is still grinning from the short drive.

armrest? what armrest?
it doesn't exist to me and I keep it up all the time.
Gets in the way of comfortable spirited shifting and gets in the way of the parking brake. For some reason, I did not have this problem in my former B5... but then that one creaked... a simple fix was foam tape at strategic spots on the armrest lid.

Common thing
The whole armrest assembly was removed. Had to get at a bolt inside through the rear ashtray (removed of course). Whole thing lifts up. The trim piece around the base of the armrest has a gasket around it, had to grease this a bit to get rid of the squeak.
It drove me nuts, couldn't wait until the next service to get it addressed.
