Default Anyone hardwire their Valentine One?

Where did you make connections? How did you route the power cord? where did you mount detector. I have my idea on what to do, but I'm just trying to see if anything else is better or more appealing. Thanks.

Default Are you using your Homelink?

I was actually thinking about slipping the fuse attachment that comes on the power wire into one of the unused fuse slots.

Default Oh yes, all three. But I couldn't find any reference to which wire was switched hot.

I think it's actually easier to go right to the fuse box. I've done many V1-hardwired to homelinks, and feeding the V1 cable through can be tricky, the wires used for the homelink are so tiny that the wire splice doesn't connect well, some cars don't have much room up there for the extra wire bundle, and finally some cars don't have an solid ground connection up there. Especially relevant on a car like mine without sunroof!

But if you decide to try, let us know how it went.

Cheers!

Default Out of curiosity, does the V1 still effectively work when radar is coming from the rear?

The V1 manual clearly states to have a visible line of sight rearward......I have never located the V1 higher than midway up the windshield, so going that high (next to rearview mirror) seems high.

Default Great Write up and pics! Thanks. One question...

... how did you tell which was hot and which was ground when you clipped the flat wire and crimped on the hot to the fuse and negative to the screw?

Thanks!

Default The flat (modular) wire isn't cut. V1 comes with everything needed for hardwiring.

Everything just plugs in nice and neat (except the + and - ).

Cheers

Default If the mirror can see out the back window then V1 should be able to.

BTW - nice pic of your car.
