Just kidding on the boat, but I do have this hitch installed on my S4 and it works great for bikes and a rear carrier.
I've only got to glance at the (spare) tire well in an RS4 and the underside. It appears a bit more shielded than the S4; but clearly is the same design.
I can't tell but the honeycomb plastic on the RS looks a bit lower to the ground.
I already have the roof rack with a large cage and need the hitch space too.<ul><li><a href="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/87266/avus_09.jpg">http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/87266/avus_09.jpg</a</li></ul>

FYI, here's the rear carrier. Aluminum, foldable.

Picked up this at etrailer.com. Slick little thing. I've used it for anything from coolers, to a set of tires.
Plus it folds up like a suitcase and you can throw it in your trunk.
I don't work for etrailer.<ul><li><a href="http://www.etrailer.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=E&Prod uct_Code=ETC-X12-114&Category_Code=CC114">http://www.etrailer.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=E&Prod uct_Code=ETC-X12-114&Catego
