Default high sills and large B and C pillar make for a nasty blind spot

i noticed it in my B6 and a few times had no idea someone was coming up in left lane until too late. honk, honk.

Default Just keep searching on eBay Germany...

...and eventually you'll see a set. I got the auto-dim blindspot mirrors for my A6, and they are fantastic!

Your mirrors are the same as the B6 platform A4/S4, so just search "audi spiegel" and look for B6 or B7 fitment mirrors. Might be someone selling housings, but also the glass that comes with it. Looks for the dotted vertical line that partitions the outer 1/3 of the glass.

Here are a couple of pics for comparison of normal vs. the blindspot mirror...

Default Yes, different shape....

With the S4 you had the option to get glass without any features, but I don't think there is a base one for the RS4.

Default How to get rid of blind spots w/o fancy mirrors or how to properly adjust your mirrors

You can virtually eliminate the blind spot by properly adjusting your mirrors. Most people adjust them so they can see the side of the car on the inside edge of the mirror. The problem with this configuration is that your side view mirrors overlap with most of what your inside rear view mirror already covers and you essentially create tunnel vision. If you adjust the mirrors properly, you shouldn't see the side of your car and you virtually eliminate any blind spots. At first it will feel a little strange, but once you get used to it you'll be amazed by the better visibility.

Here's a quick tip on how to properly adjust the side mirrors. BTW, many cheap cars don't allow the mirrors to be adjust outward enough:

For the driver's side mirror: Place the side of your head against the window, then adjust the mirror until the side of your vehicle comes into view. For the passenger's side mirror: While sitting in the driver's seat, lean to the right so that your head is in the car's center line. Adjust the mirror until the side of your vehicle comes into view.

It's also useful to spot when people's mirrors are not adjusted properly. Basically if your behind someone and you can see the driver in their side mirror, their mirror isn't adjusted properly and they won't see you if you come up on the left.

I've included a useful link to some diagrams illustrating this point. Ignore his blur on monitors at the top.

http://www.hanselman.com/blog/HowToAdjustYourSiderearviewMirrorsAndWhyYouNeed3Mo nitors.aspx</a

I got pretty good coverage now. But the split mirrors are great
