Default I looked into it once, the shipping cost was almost as much as the oil itself.

plus, they were selling the oil at basically the same price as Pep Boys, so it would have ended up costing more to have it shipped.

there may be a way to get it cheaper, I only checked one place.

True, these days of less and less owner maint, it's getting hard to find stuff at the auto stores.

Default Amazon sells oil, free shipping...

The only stuff they stock that meets 502.00 spec is Valvoline SynPower 5w40, which they don't expect to have in stock until next month.

Since the six pack is >$25, shipping is free.

Default Bob...Mobil 1? Valvoline?...

I used to use Mobil 1 exclusively in my sportbikes, and while living in Lake Tahoe for 4 years. Back then it was either Mobil 1, Redline, Kendall or Motul for synthetics. The others didn't offer synthetics for retail.

The reason I use Valvoline over Mobil 1 is because I had a problem with Mobil 1 on two cars simultaneously right after an oil change, from the factory dino oil. At cold start-up(with the Mobil 1) I would get a harsh, oil starved sound in one car and a slight knocking in the other. The weights were correct, so that wasn't the issue. I immediately drained out the Mobil 1 and went with Valvoline SynPower. Problem solved, and I've stayed with that since.

One thing I noticed with Mobil 1 is they are constantly changing their formula. First it was changed to Tri-synthetic, and now it's called Super Syn with "new" anti wear technology. While this is probably nothing more than a marketing ploy, it has kind of turned me off of Mobil 1(the constant changing)...that and the problem I described.

Anyway, just an FYI.
